As a parent, you naturally want to know how the game works, what data is used and what the rules are around safety and consent. On this page, we explain everything clearly.
HuntGo and young players
HuntGo was created to connect technology with outdoor play. Players do not use their phone as the main focus, but as a tool to go outside together, get moving, complete challenges and use the real world as their playground. The live version of HuntGo is intended for players aged 6 and up. For younger players, we believe clear guidance, safety and privacy are especially important. Parents and caregivers should therefore be able to easily understand how HuntGo works, what data is used and what rules apply.Playing safely in the real world
HuntGo is played outdoors. This means players must always be aware of traffic, other people, the terrain, weather conditions and the boundaries of the playing area. The app can support players with game rules, notifications and warnings, but technology can never replace common sense, supervision or responsibility in the real world. For younger players, we recommend that parents and supervisors check the playing area together beforehand, make clear agreements and discuss what is and is not safe.Location and privacy
Location is an important part of HuntGo. During an active Hunt, the app may use location data to determine player positions, calculate distances, monitor playing areas, recognise checkpoints and enable game actions. We believe it is important that parents and players know what data HuntGo uses and why. Personal data and location data may only be processed for clear purposes related to the operation, safety and security of HuntGo. For the HuntGo closed beta, the current minimum age is 6 years old. Players aged 6 to 15 may only participate when a parent or legal guardian has given consent. HuntGo aims to make this consent process as simple and privacy-friendly as possible. We do not ask for facial recognition, a face scan or a copy of an identity document. Parental consent will be part of this page. A parent or guardian will receive clear information about HuntGo, the most important privacy and safety aspects and what they are being asked to give consent for.What does a parent or guardian confirm?
By giving parental consent, the parent or guardian confirms that:- they are authorised to give consent for the young player;
- they have read the information about HuntGo, safety and privacy;
- the player has permission to participate in the closed beta;
- they understand that HuntGo may process location data during a Hunt in order for the game to work;
- they understand that consent can be withdrawn later.
Withdrawing consent
A parent or guardian must also be able to withdraw previously given consent. When consent is withdrawn, the minor’s participation will be adjusted or ended where necessary to comply with the applicable rules. The exact technical process for giving and withdrawing consent will be linked to the HuntGo account and must be fully tested before the closed beta.What can you do as a parent?
- Discuss in advance where and with whom the Hunt will be played.
- Check whether the chosen playing area is suitable and safe.
- Set clear boundaries and agree on an end time.
- Make sure the phone has enough battery.
- Check that location services are working correctly.
- Read the safety rules together before a Hunt begins.
- Stay involved when younger players use HuntGo.
